Nick Shackford, who is an assistant coach with Team Maryland U18 Tier 1 and a former Bay State Breaker, has been signed as the Southeast Regional Scout for the Bay State Breakers EJHL program for the 2009/2010 season. Nick enters his third season with Team Maryland where he will serve as an assistant coach for the 2009/2010 season. Nick returns to the Breakers after a solid playing career. Nick grew up in the Washington D.C. area, and played for the Washington Little Capitals Bantam Major AAA team before moving on to Berkshire Prep School, where he played for three years. He served as Team Captain during his senior year. After Berkshire, Nick moved into the junior ranks, playing for the Bay State Breakers of the Eastern Junior Hockey League under current Head Coach and General Manager David McCauley. After Shackford’s three year stint with the Breakers, in which he served as Team Captain during his last year, he then played his collegiate hockey at Cortland State University and Saint Anselm College.
